Carol Peters, M.D. completed her undergraduate training at Walla Walla College, Walla Walla, WA. She received her medical training at Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, CA, obtaining an M.D. degree in 1986. She completed an OB-GYN residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1990, and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA in 1992. She is board-certified by the American College of Obstetricians-Gynecologists in both general OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology.
Dr. Peters practiced in southern California for over twelve years, including private solo infertility practice, medical school faculty position, and as an attending physician at a large public county teaching hospital. Ready to leave the California environment, she was invited to Texas in 2004 by some friends, and has been here ever since.
Dr. Peters practiced in a number of hospitals in Texas, Minnesota, and California from 2005-2012, doing locum tenens work (short-term physician relief work). This has allowed her the time and flexibility to develop her ministry and broadcasting work.
Known as Dr. Carol to those who know her, some of her friends also call her “doctor-doctor.” Besides her medical work Dr. Carol is also an ordained Christian minister. She received her Doctor of Ministry degree from Oral Roberts University in 2009, and is founder and president of Totally Free Ministries.
Dr. Carol married her husband Al Tanksley in 2008, becoming an instant grandmother. Together they produce and host a daily radio program The Dr. Carol Show addressing all aspects of health – physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual. She also enjoys speaking for a wide variety of gatherings, writing, and spoiling four step-grandchildren.
We are excited to have Dr. Peters join Renaissance Women’s Group, offering reproductive endocrinology and infertility services. Her medical interests include treatment of pubertal and menopausal disorders, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, infertility, and other reproductive endocrine disorders. She also enjoys being part of the miracle of birth.
