Dr. Deborah O’Connell, founder of the Deborah O’Connell Women’s Imaging Center, was born in Lima, Ohio and raised in Dublin, Ireland, where she attended medical school at Trinity College Dublin. She did her radiology residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and did a fellowship in computed tomography ultrasound with fellowship research interest in magnetic resonance imaging of the breast.
Before opening her own practices, she was with the Austin Diagnostic Clinic for 25 years. She established the first comprehensive breast center in Austin by teaming with surgeons and oncologists to treat breast cancer.
Dr. O’Connell believes in a personalized compassionate approach to women who come to her seeking advice on breast cancer conditions.
Dr. O’Connell is also a member of The Society of Breast Imaging and has served on the board of the American Cancer Society. She is a true advocate for women and the difficult choices they often face with breast cancer diagnosis.

Dr. O’Connell is married to an Austin physician.
